Xiaomi has started to roll out new MIUI based stable software update for Mi 8 owners. This latest firmware brings several enhancements to this device like Camera, Battery and GPS. Right now the Mi 8 users are receiving this update with version MIUI 9.6.7. However this update doesn’t make any change in android version and it will remain at 8.1 oreo.
First of all it updates the android security patch level of this device to August 1 2018, then enhances the camera performance and tweaks the battery life. Previously some users were reported the bug on GPS, this firmware will spot and fix those issues. Apart from that, it may enhance the performance and system stability.
This stable ROM will be available for download via OTA for Mi 8 handset users. If you own Mi 8 global unit, just connect it to WiFi or mobile data and wait for the automatic OTA prompt. Once the OTA pop-up on your device, follow the installation instructions that shown on your display. Users those who are using MIUI 10 beta ROM will not receive this stable update.
