Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 handset owners are now picking up new security software update. This update brings January 2018 security patch for both devices. However the company limited this firmware update to Chinese variants only and there is no word about global roll out. Following eligible models are now receiving this update in China – Nokia 6 (TA-1000) and Nokia 7 (TA1041).
Right now the security updates for these handsets are arriving as OTA. It will bump the software version of Nokia 6 to 00CN_3_31H and Nokia 7 to 069B.B01. The download size for Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 weighs in 112 MB and 70 MB. The january month patch will fix the Spectre and Meltdown major security flaws on android os.
The OTA roll out has already initiated and also started to hit more handsets in China. If you own the Nokia 6 or Nokia 7 and still didn’t receive the update prompt, then check for the update manually from settings menu. Soon the manufacturer will expand the January security patch for global users.
