Google has started to push new firmware update for Pixel range handsets that are working under Verizon network. It will install the December month security patch on Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL mobiles. The wireless carrier has affirmed this update by publishing the change logs on its support page.
The report suggests December month patch will also fix the Krack vulnerability related to wifi. The Pixel range devices are receiving the update in same software version OPM1.171019.011. Once installed the android security patch level of these devices will be updated to 2017-12-01.
Verizon will send out this software update through regular OTA in phases. So any time this security update may hit your handsets. Before checking or downloading the update, try to charge the battery level above 50 percent. Probably the security update will not weigh in much big so use recommended network to download the update file.
