PIN for the SIM card in Mobile phone helps to prevent people from making unauthorised phone calls. After turning on SIM security, user have to enter your SIM PIN each time you start your phone.If the wrong PIN is entered more times than the maximum number of attempts allowed, then the SIM card will become “PUK-locked”. The PUK code to unlock the phone have been provided by your mobile operator when you received your SIM card and its depends on the Mobile operators.

Pattern unlock was designed by Google as a visual way to unlock a phone by connecting dots in a grid array in a pattern to unlock the phone when the pattern matches a saved pattern.In Android phones the user can create their own "unlock pattern" to protect their phone. This is like a password used to unlock the phone. Instead of entering numbers or letters a pattern across nine little circles is used.
